You meet him on every street corner, he is present almost in all women’s magazines , on many blogs (including mine) … The term “Healthy” is popular at the moment and is clearly in fashion . And I find it rather nice, personally.

However, I find that sometimes we forget what the “Healthy” really is. To say that it is only a fashion is too reductive . Even if one discovers it thanks to the craze which it arouses at the moment, it does not remain about it less a real way of life which concerns above all the well being general. And it’s important, well being .

“Healthy” is, in my opinion, a way of life and a state of mind. We can not simply “follow a fashion” … In which case, it will only last for a while and we will quickly fall back into the meanders of industrial junk food. Having a healthy lifestyle encompasses so many things and certainly not just food. Indeed, once we start to pay attention to what we eat,   we quickly realize that everything around us could be healthier: cosmetics, clothing, maintenance but also our physical condition … And we often want to change everything! The organic products then invest little by little our cupboards and our bathroom. We take time to play sports. Quite often, we wonder about the origin of the clothes we wear and it asks us small problems with our conscience: on the conditions of “manufacturing” of all that can be industrial, the way animals are treated in farms … Anyway, in most cases, healthy rhymes with ethics and well-being. This is why in the end, we can not say that healthy is a fashion, it is very reductive. If you’re just trying to keep up with fashion, then it does not have anything to do with any kind of healthy lifestyle and that famous state of mind that motivates us every day to try to do more, to do better, to reduce the negative impact that we can have on the environment, on animals … and on ourselves.

So no, the “healthy” is not a fashion, but a way of life that revolves around a certain state of mind.

As I said above, having a healthy lifestyle affects just about every facet of our daily lives. And everyone sees things in his own way. Indeed, what is healthy for me, will not necessarily be for you. Let’s take a simple example: the bio. Some of you will find it important to eat fresh and especially local, but not especially organic. For me, foods that are not organic are not healthy because they are stuffed with pesticides. I prefer foods that do not come from my region but are organic. For others, eating little meat but of good quality is quite healthy. This is not my case since I think that we should not eat at all and that it does not correspond to my idea of ethics. There is someone for whom to go 2h 5 times a week to the gym is necessary. Personally, I think it’s way too much for my body and he can not stand it. I’m not telling you that to make a judgment about people who eat non-organic meat and who gorge on sports, but simply to show you that everyone has their own idea of what can be healthy or not. So, of course, going to macdo 3 times a week can never be called healthy, but the term healthy is still quite “vague” in the end.

For everyone to cultivate “healthy sound”, to define what is healthy or not for him and his family.

Healthy eating, what does it consist of?

Even if, as I said above, eating healthy is not the only characteristic of a healthy lifestyle in my opinion and that in addition everyone cultivates his own “healthy”, I would like to dwell on the side food. Eating healthy is for me quite simple: no animal products (dairy, eggs …), industrial, and gluten. However, eating healthy can not be reduced to eliminating these foods. Indeed, we will not only replace them, but in addition to add others and with new features. My diet is rich in vegetables, oilseeds, legumes, and so on and the best. I also eat in season, organic and my fruits and vegetables often come from France.

It is also important, if not indispensable, to know how to make discrepancies. Do you know the “cheat meals”? These are meals where we allow ourselves a little everything and anything. Generally, we do one a week (but everyone does as he wants), and it often translates into a small passage to fast food. I say yes to the cheat meal! Just yesterday, I ate a good big French fries with my friends and even drank some beer and not organic wine (foliiiiie). I was hungry, I was thirsty, I felt like it and I do not feel guilty. Of course, I would have preferred to eat my fries without oil , to drink a good beer without gluten and organic wine … But it was not possible where I was, and I did not get private because “olala, it’s really not healthy.”

What is not healthy in the end is to deprive oneself.

If you live it like a deprivation, it will not go. However, perhaps the first 3 weeks will be complicated, you will always want to eat industrial and you will feel this feeling of deprivation (especially because of the weaning of sugar). But I can assure you that Kellogg’s cereals do not make me want anymore, I prefer them my ultra-gourmet homemade granola. I enjoy raw bars, not snickers, and they do not miss me. The frozen vegetable cakes that I adored 2 years ago … my palate just finds them infected today. Healthy eating is not a deprivation, but a real pleasure.

As we eat healthily, our tastes and greed evolve, simply.

Healthy and weight loss

Sometimes, we want to adopt a healthy diet to lose weight. First of all, I insist that eating healthy has nothing to do with reducing the amount of food on your plate … We eat better, so we can eat more (without gorging ourselves) without it does not necessarily have a negative impact on our weight. Personally, I doubled my food quantities since I ate well and did not take 1 kg.

It’s all up to you to opt for a healthy diet. In my opinion, this is the best suited to effective and stable weight loss over time. You will not lose 10 kg in a week as some diets make you shimmer. No, those pounds, you may lose them more slowly … But surely. And you will avoid doing yoyo at the same time. Having a healthy diet gives you some stability.
